The Age of Adaline

In Cinemas April 16

THE AGE OF ADALINE is a romantic drama that tells of the miraculous life of Adaline Bowman (Lively), who remains 29-years- old for over six decades following a near death experience. Over the course of the 20th century, Adaline leads a solitary existence, never allowing herself to get close to anyone who might reveal her secret. But a chance encounter with charismatic philanthropist Ellis Jones (Huisman) reignites her passion for life and romance. When a weekend with his parents threatens to uncover the truth, Adaline makes a decision that will change her life forever.

A sweeping romance spanning the 1900s to present day, THE AGE OF ADALINE showcases stunning period costumes by Academy Award® winning designer Angus Strathie (Moulin Rouge). Building on her fashion icon status in female-skew hit show Gossip Girl, Blake Lively impresses in a serious dramatic role as the beautiful Adaline Bowman. She stars alongside Game of Thrones’ Michiel Huisman and acclaimed actor Harrison Ford. With a unique premise exploring the idea that true love relies on our ability to change and grow with one another, THE AGE OF ADALINE is a stylish film with an intimate and moving love story.

A simple movie with a rather unusual explanation as to how an already glamorous actress
maintains longevity

I liked this film, it was an easy watch and kept me entertained. I don't know why people would complain about it. Both Blake and Harrison played their parts extremely well.

It starts a bit ordinary but becomes quite compelling. Nice film with some old fashion romance, beautiful wardrobe and scenery. Loved Harrison Ford's performance.

A beautiful film - romantic and engaging, with a touch of sadness and some humour. The scenery was magnificent and a very pleasant soundtrack. Very strong acting.
Not an intellectual challenge but just an easy watching, feel good movie.

This films a joke. The voice-over that uses junk science to try to convince you of an outlandish scenario which should have just been left as Hollywood make believe instead of trying to make its nonsense justified. Sure the woman is beautiful and if you wan to make some pudding around this, then go ahead, just don't insult me too much.

It's better than the critics would have you believe. Apart from the "event" that causes Adeline to stop ageing, the rest of the movie is engaging and the actors play their parts very well. Good for a romantic, rainy afternoon.
