Mozart in Prague

Mozart in Prague

Two of Mozart’s finest works paired with breathtaking Czech adagios—sheer heaven.

Nowhere was Mozart’s music appreciated more in his own lifetime than the city of Prague, where his operas Don Giovanni and La clemenza di Tito were premièred.

His homage to the city was the Prague Symphony, a masterpiece brimming with his most infectious and elegant orchestral writing.

Laureate of the 2013 International Telekom Beethoven Competition, pianist Stefan Cassomenos has received numerous international accolades for his sensitive and spirited performances. He joins MCO to perform Mozart’s Piano Concerto No 25, the majestic concerto penned alongside the Prague.

Great night. Very relaxing. The venue - with the rowers slipping past on the river was beautiful. William Hennessy is a real character!

Loved it but spent the whole concert squirming. There is no getting comfortable on those seats.

lovely music, shame the seats are so hard

Melbourne Chamber Orchestra were superb and the music was delightful.

William Hennessy, who usually conducts from the violin, wasn't playing as he'd had a bicycle accident, but we got to see him less restrained as the conductor. A particular treat was seeing Stefan Cassomenos perform again, although he looked quite different to when I last saw him play some Shostakovich. Pity about the hard seats at Deakin Edge - good for 1 hour max.

Soul feeding performance by the MCO. Made my heart sing. Beautiful to watch performers who dance with the music and truly love what they do.

I attended the concert yesterday, and it was perfect. Mr. Hennessy, the director, said that they had had a lot of fun making the program, and that the main purpose of the program was to delight. And delightful it was.
The performance was superb; the first piece, Nocturne, actually made me cry, and all the other compositions were just as thrilling.
Last but not least, Mr. Cassomenos, the piano soloist, was amazing. He played effortlessly, his hands literally flied over the keyboard. Incredible, incredible performance.

Highly enjoyable. Loved the venue except for the hard seats (only MCO subscribers get cushions)
