Meyhané - Farewell to Dimitris Hoplaros

Fresh from a praised and ambitious Sydney concert with The Australian Brandenburg Orchestra, Meyhané say farewell and kaló taksídi! to violinist and friend Dimitris Hoplaros before he returns to Cyprus. We are fortunate to have Meyhané bring their superb renditions of music from Anatolia, the Eastern Mediterranean and Balkans to The Boite World Music Cafe in North Fitzroy.


Demetris Hoplaros was born in Nicosia Cyprus. At the age of five he started piano lessons. A year after he switched to classical violin, as the rest of his siblings. By the age of 16 he earned a Diploma in Violin performance as well as Music Theory from the Royal Schools of Music, United Kingdom.
