Glen Kniebeiss and Sangeet Mishra

Glen Kniebeiss and Sangeet Mishra

Sangeet Mishra, an internationally respected singer, plays the rare, Indian bowed sarangi. Its name means ‘a hundred colours’, it’s regarded as the instrument closest to the voice. He will be joined by Melbourne tabla artist Glen Kniebeiss, renowned as one of the country’s best players and who has twice received funding from the Australia Council for the Arts to enhance his tabla studies in India under the guidance of masters Ustad Anthony Dass and Pandit Ishwar Lal Mishra.

What a great gig this was. Rare and exquisite ... Was my pleasure to hear this instrument for the first time and thanks on the house for the generous offer.
