Marilla Homes & The Housemen

Marilla Homes & The Housemen

Marilla Homes and the Housemen are a new band from Melbourne, Australia, who bring together Marilla Homes (vocals), Stephen O'Hern (Guitar, bouzouki, vocals), Liam Davis (guitar, bodhran, vocals) and Silas Palmer (fiddle, keyboard, vocals). Together they create a wide range of music, from celtic and folk, through some fresh interpretations of well known songs, to originals songs and tunes.

Marilla has a voice which truly touches the heart. She is a regular voice in festivals around Australia. She won the Frances Folk Gathering Vocal Award in her first visit there, and is often invited on stage to join notable musicians and bands, including The Wish List, Claddagh, Dingo's Breakfast, Graham Wilson and Peter Anderson.

On Saturday 5th July, it will be a double Album Launch: Marilla Homes -Angel Song, a solo album recorded at St. Brigid’s Crossley and Marilla Homes and The Housemen.

A fabulous night of Celtic song.

The stories were eccentric and the lyrics from the heart. As she was unaccompanied I felt back up would have greatly enhanced the experience.
